Park meetings

Young people with fun and creative ideas for their parks are encouraged to attend the ‘Friends of the Park’ meetings, organised by the Park Rangers. Most parks have a regular ‘Friends of the Park’ meeting. Details of these meetings will posted on this website and youth workers will support young people to attend them and present their ideas. Alternatively go along to your park and ask your Park Ranger for further details.

Bury Lions Carnival Parade

This year’s Bury Lions Carnival Parade and Gala 2010 took place on 12 June, and Team Bury partners supported Bury Lions Club that made it a bigger and better event.
We hope 2011 will be even better and hope to help raise more money for Bury Lions, who work to support worthy causes and charities in the local community.  Currently we are looking for young people and groups to take part – this could be:

• A performing band.
• A dance group.
• A theatre group.
• A group which can build a float.
• A local community group which wants to showcase what it does.
• Or another aspect, group, or performance which allows us to promote what is good about the borough of Bury.

If you want to take part in the Carnival as part of Bury Youth Service, please contact us on 0161-253-5392 / 0161-253-6149 or email youthservice@bury.gov.uk
You can also log on to www.burylionsclub.org.uk to find out more about the work of Bury Lions, and the plans for this year’s Carnival.
