Youth Cabinet is a Borough-wide meeting of young people that is part of the Council Structure. Representatives from Area Youth Action Groups are invited to attend as well as any other young people that are interested.
Youth Cabinet meets every six weeks in a Committee Room at the Town Hall. It is co-chaired by a councilor and a young person. The agenda and papers are sent out in advance, but there is also an opportunity for you to raise items at the meeting.
If you would like to speak to another young person who already attends, find out the time of meetings or just find out more, e-mail YouthService@bury.gov.uk.

The purpose of the group is to:
• ensure that consultation about the future of youth provision in Bury is done fairly
• to produce guidelines that the council should adhere to with regard to the consultation

School Consultation Day
The Youth Review Group organised a consultation day with school pupils in Bury at the New Kershaw Centre. Pupils were chosen by their schools to attend and take part in a range of activities. The puropse of the day was to find out what young people who do not use Bury Youth Service would like from youth provisions in Bury.
The Debate
The Youth Review Group organised a debate in Bury Council Chambers at the Town Hall. Councillors and other adults were invited to sit in the public gallery, watch and ask questions to young people after the debate.
The debate topic was:
'A local authority youth service is not necessary as it is the parent’s responsibility to provide young people with sufficient funds to engage in positive activities.'
