Hello! My name is Heather Cooper and I'm the Youth Participation Worker for Bury Council. You can normally find me in the Connexions Centre on Broad Street but I also work with Bury Youth Service in the Youth Centres across the borough.
My job is to make sure that young people in Bury have lots of opportunities to say what they think and get involved in exciting activities. There are loads of ways you can have your say and lots of projects you can get involved in.
Youth Cabinet is a group of young people and councillors who meet together in Bury Town Hall to make decisions.
The Youth Opportunity Fund is money that young people allocate for projects in Bury.
United Kingdom Youth Parliament is a national organisation seeking to enable young people to make positive changes.
Connexions and Bury Youth Service are always looking for young people to evaluate our services, to help decide what new staff we should employ and what new projects we should provide. There are loads of opportunities to go on trips, to meet other young people, to have fun and get your views heard. If you'd like some more information or you have ideas about how life in Bury could be better for young people then please get in touch!
If you want to find out more about any of the above, e-mail us at YouthService@bury.gov.uk.
